Mar Menor
A salt lagoon unique in Europe. 170 km² of inland water with an island, salt flats and cinematic sunsets. Access by water and land.
Article 36.2 of the Spanish Corporate Income Tax Law allows international productions to recover 30% of the first million euros spent in Spain, and 25% of the remaining amount, capped at €20 million per project (€10M per episode for series). The Canary Islands offer up to 50%.
Requirements: a minimum spend in Spain of €1M (€200,000 for animation) and hiring a local production services company. At 88 Millas we handle all the paperwork and the final certification.
Murcia is Spain's least-filmed region. An hour from Alicante airport and two hours from Madrid, you'll find eight types of location within a 90 km radius — from salt lagoons to desert badlands, Mediterranean forest ranges, walled cities and whitewashed inland villages.
We know every access route. We have travelled the whole Region producing tourism videos for the regional government (ITREM): we know how to reach each location, the permits needed, the best hours of light, the times of year when each landscape looks its best and the operational constraints of each area. That experience saves a foreign production company weeks of scouting.

A port city with living Roman archaeology: theatre, amphitheatre, forum. Historic centre, industrial and naval port.

Eroded badlands in the style of the Bardenas or a painted desert. Road access, geology unique in Europe.

250 km of coastline with unspoilt beaches in Calblanque Regional Park and Cabo de Palos. Turquoise waters and volcanic rock cliffs.

Historic centre, palm groves, squares and a Baroque cathedral. Michelin-starred restaurants, premium accommodation and production services.

A monumental city with a castle and a historic centre restored after the earthquakes. Surrounded by the steppe and desert landscapes of the Guadalentín valley. Easy access from the A-7.

Whitewashed inland villages, unspoilt mountain ranges, winding rivers, beech and pine forests. The green, less-visited side of Murcia, an hour from the sea.
We don't just hire a fixer. We have produced institutional tourism videos for the regional government, filmed in protected locations with special permits and know the operational quirks of each area: where and when filming works best, which authorities you need to notify, how to apply for filming permits in regional parks, which roads can be closed for a shoot, which local crew operates in each district and which time of year gives the best light for each landscape. That turns a complex shoot into a smooth one.
Our own cinema camera and lenses, an AESA-certified drone with an in-house pilot and a senior lighting, sound and post-production network sized to the shoot. For projects requiring high-end cinema cameras, we bring in ARRI Alexa, RED and similar kits through our network of senior DOPs.
